5 ways to style your Bodycon dress Ft. Date The Ramp
One dress, 5 ways of wearing it.
Hi guys, so am back with another fashion blogpost. Before starting with the ways of styling a bodycon dress, you all should know what exactly is the bodycon dress. According to eBay,
"A bodycon dress is a one-piece figure hugging garment that clings tightly to the body from the bust to the lower hem. It typically has three lengths: upper thigh, mid thigh or knee."
The term bodycon is actually derived from the word 'body conscious'. And therefore many plus size women are not so keen on wearing them as it can be really unforgiving on their bodies, revealing every minute bulge. But am all for body positivity and I think fuller-figured women can wear whatever their heart desires as long as they're comfortable in their own bodies. So society eff your beauty standards cause beauty is beyond body.
Another thing that I would like to mention is that a great and a better alternative to bodycon dresses are bandage dresses. And though many people have this notion that they are one and the same thing, they are absolutely not. Here's why, bodycon dresses are designed just to trace your silhouette whereas bandage dresses double as a shapewear tucking your body in, supporting your curves and controlling your bulges. And the reason behind this is that bodycon dresses are made of a Lycra and Polyester blend while bandage dresses are made of heavy composite bandage material with blends from Rayon, Spandex and Nylon. There is a different variant as well named a Body Contouring dress which with the help of certain cuts, panels and colours will help in creating an illusion of a well sculpted body. There are many other things that can be said but I do not want to complicate matters any further. So let's head to the ways of styling a simple bodycon dress.
